Day 10: Pisa

Leaning Tower of Pisa!

Today was quite reaxing relative to the miles we travel on foot each day usually.  We both had a good night's sleep and despite only having a wash cloth (since the hostel didn't have any towels for hire/rent) I had a nice shower before we set out for Pisa at 10am.  Pisa is about an hour train ride from Florence and, in hindsight, we probably should hav just stopped there on the way to Florence from Genoa but oh well!  (In hindsight we also probably should've done Cinque Terre instead of Genoa but you can't win them all.  Genoa was okay too though).  Anyways, Pisa was really nice.  I didn't know that the leaning tower had a Duomo right next to it.  Honestly we just took cheesy pictures with the tower (it's 15 euro to climb it) and left.  When we got back we did a little more shopping around town.  Florence is widely known for leather and gold products among others.  After we cleaned our clothes (yayyy clean clothes!) we went out to dinner to meet up with Brendan's friend who is studying abroad, Annie.  We had some delicious wild boar and pasta with her and her parents who were visiting--a nice group of people!  Most of our night was spent planning our day tomorrow as we will be setting off for Rome so I anticipate (hopefully) some exciting things tomorrow.  Thanks for reading! :)

The tower, it leans.

The Duomo!

This is the river in Florence!  The clouds looked cool... :)

  1. I'm planning my trip to Spain and Italy and we'll be spending a few days in Venice and a few days in Florence. Do you think it is worth it to go to Pisa as a day trip from Florence or would you skip it?
