Parks and Recreation

Check out how big some of the parks are!  Even though Hyde park appears to be tiny, along with a few others on the map, Hyde park is actually huge!  You can imagine how big Richmond is...  In addition to all these parks there are also tons of squares all over the city.  So much green space!

This is Regent's park, not far from UCL.  These life preservers are all along the water.

I have no idea what this is all about but this was at Regent's Park.

Lots of gardens as well at Regent's.

The main walkway in Regent's.

Sam and Brendan reading the map.  Regent's also has a ton of pitches (fields) and Brendan and I played softball with the UCL softball club at one of them.  The British students had never played before!  Regent's is also home to the London Zoo where they filmed Harry Potter (when he speaks to the snake in the first book).  Like I said, the park is huge!

This is Hyde Park which is close to where I live and I'm pretty sure it's even bigger than Regent's Park.

Rowing on the serpentine.

Horses, bikes, roller bladers, and people cross country skiing but with wheels on small blades...?

Swans and lots of birds.  People feed them all the time so they're everywhere.  The swans are actually property of the Queen so it's illegal to do anything to them.

Everything is all backwards!  The weather has been unusually clear and hot, about 25C.  Hopefully the weather stays nice even though London isn't known for having sunshine.
